Paula Patton (born in 1960) is an American actor. She has also directed films such as Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol. She was born into an upper middle-class family located in Los Angeles and had big goals for her future. The idea of instilling a love for films within her daughter was a skill that she learned from her mother, who also loved watching movies. Paula was active in the co-curricular activities of her school and was particularly drawn to the dramatic arts. She was an excellent actress, and she enjoyed performing alongside her fellow students. Hamilton Magnet Arts High School gave her many opportunities to be an actor in high school and she picked acting to pursue a career. In a summer program in the University of Southern California, she thoroughly enjoyed her time there. The program gave her a three month project to create documentaries for PBS. Her first job was as a production assist for TV documentaries, after completing her project. After that, she began producing documentaries. Her work was rewarding but was determined to pursue a career as an actor. The romantic comedies Hitch she played a small part alongside Will Smith. Since then, she has been in numerous films as well as TV series.
