Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder professionally Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter after her hometown. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father was born into the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's family moved from Mendocino County to California at the age of seven aged. They didn't have electricity. There was no television books were Ryder's only distraction to spend the time and she started to become a keen reader. In 1983 when she was 12 years old, Ryder took up a place at the American Conservatory Theatre to take classes in acting. In the year she turned 15, Ryder landed a role in Lucas, her first major film. Ryder was bullied at high school. Ryder was hopeful that her work acting as a professional would make a difference. However, unfortunately, it was not to be. Still she continued pursuing her dreams. Her breakthrough came in 1988 with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder kept playing successful roles in a variety of films. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her performance as a character in The Age of Innocence (1993).
