The acting career of Reese Witherspoon began to take off after she attended Stanford University. Her early critical successes included parts in movies like Pleasantville and Election but it was her performance as Elle Woods in the box office hit Legally Blonde that marked a turning point in her professional career. The career of the actress began in mid-2000s, with some minor roles on TV. In the 2003 film The Invisible Man she had her first feature-length role. The television debut of her career was House of Lies Whitney. In addition, she appeared as an actor in The Dictator (1998) and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2006).
